  • Events provide many benefits for students:

    • Events are fun and students are excited by the activities, the social time and the treats!

    • Students who participate in events regularly are much less likely to struggle with performance anxiety

    • Events provide regular deadlines which motivate efficient practice

    • Students are exposed to a variety of musical styles

    • Regular participation results in students feeling a sense of community and familiarity with other students and parents

  • Events occur monthly, typically on the last Sunday of the month, from around 6-7pm.

  • Events are admission by donation. Suggested donation is $10-$20 per household (depending on the event and the number of guests you are bringing). This will help cover costs such as: space rental, materials, guest performers, drinks and snacks, as well as time and preparation of teachers and organisers.

  • No! Participation in events can be part of exam preparation! Events are designed to correspond well with the exam categories! For example, if a student is preparing a level 10 exam, they could present their List A or B piece at the Baroque/Classical Event, List C at the Romantic Era event, List D and E and Etudes at either of the Formal concerts, or depending on the piece, at the Halloween event or Jazz event. Popular Selection Pieces would likely work for the Movies/TV/Video games event. And if the student has performed all of their pieces in public in advance of their exam, they will feel very prepared!
